3 Topics I Am Exploring In My Life Right Now
As a dedicated yoga teacher and evolving fitness coach, I am currently immersed in exploring three pivotal areas: Exercise Science, Yoga Therapy, and Lifestyle and Fitness Coaching.
Exercise Science
In my yoga therapy journey, I've become intrigued by the contextual understanding of yoga poses and their benefits. Backbend spinal extensions are associated with alleviating depression, while forward bend spinal flexions can relieve anxiety. This curiosity has led me into exercise and fitness science. My goal is to understand how physiological mechanisms in yoga interact with overall fitness principles. By expanding my knowledge, I aim to enhance my ability to serve clients effectively, ensuring a comprehensive approach to their physical and mental health.
Yoga Therapy
My personal narrative with yoga therapy intricately intertwines with my mental health journey, specifically addressing my experiences with depression and anxiety. The teachings of yoga have been transformative, extending beyond physical postures to include the profound philosophical wisdom that dates back millennia. Contemporary yoga therapy, as a burgeoning field, integrates traditional wisdom into clinical practices. This involves using yoga poses, breath awareness, and mindfulness techniques to promote holistic wellness. My introduction to yoga therapy by my mentor, Hart Lazer, in 2013 marked a turning point in my life. The therapy has since become foundational, reinforcing my commitment to continuously learning and incorporating its principles into my daily routines.
Lifestyle and Fitness Coaching
In my career, developing sustainable coaching strategies is paramount. After teaching numerous group classes, private sessions, workshops, and retreats, it's evident that each individual presents unique challenges. Our diversity, both genetically and culturally, means a one-size-fits-all approach is ineffective. Coaching transcends personal connection; it is deeply educational, supporting both physical and mental transformation. I hope to further explore the biological, social, and psychological aspects of human performance. This fuels my passion and allows me to create tailored strategies that respect clients' individual intricacies.
In essence, these focal areas represent a confluence of my interests and aspirations. Driven by a desire to connect deeply and effectively impact each person I work with, I am eager to engage with others who share these interests and explore these domains together.
If any of these subjects resonate with you, I would love to connect and share our mutual experiences and insights.
