From Thought to Reality: My Manifestation Experience with Master Sri Akarshana
Introduction
Over the weekend, I had an opportunity to attend a manifestation event hosted by Master Sri Akarshana. As someone who is a big believer of integration of science and spirituality, this event speak to me more than any other speakers because the approach was rooted in yoga. I have been interested in the topic of manifestations for about a year now, mainly because of my quest to understand the role of law of attraction and how energy can affect the way we think and act which ultimately lead to success in life. As someone who has been practicing yoga for many years, the topic of energy and universe always been suspicious for me not because I do not believe the power of subtle energy, instead I was never quite move by the non-tangible aspect of the claims until this weekend.
The Higher Self and the Ego: A Yogic Perspective
In yogic philosophy, human consciousness operates in 2 levels: The Higher Self, the Universe ( Atman ) and The Ego ( Ahamkara). The ego represent our identity, it is the instrument through which individual manifests. The Higher Self, which is the Universe represent pure consciousness, an eternal existence beyond the constraints of time and space. The Ego is the sum of our personal desires, emotions and attachments. It can helps us navigate the material worlds but can also lead to suffering. The Higher Self, on the other hand, is the true nature. In upanishads, it is described as “neti, neti” which is “not this, not that”. It is the origin and the destination of all creation.
In the yoga tradition, the journey of individual consciousness to universal consciousness is a gradual process of awakening. The state of Samadhi in yoga practice represents the sacred moment when the ego dissolves into Higher Self. Through practice of meditation, self-inquiry and mindfulness, the annihilation of individuality is not to separate ourselves from who we are, in contrast, it is the unity ( yoga or yuj ) through harmonious resonance of individual consciousness and universal consciousness that brings true peace and joy.
The Power of Manifestation: From Ego to Higher Self
During the gathering, there was a video showing the zoom out of a girl laying on the ground to infinity of the universe which transcend solar system and even the milky way, then the lens zoom back to the girl and zoom in to the organ, blood vessels, nerves, cells and atoms. It was quite an amazing sight and instantly spark a revelation about where we are in this universe in perspective.
As someone who loves science and facts, the law of attraction and manifestation seems very far reach for me to actually put my mind to it. As a matter of fact, manifestation technique is quite scientific.
This duality and unity are key to understanding the law of manifestation. Modern quantum physics has discovered that the observer's consciousness influences the state of matter, echoing the ancient yogic wisdom that "all creation is born of the mind." By delving into the yogic theory of consciousness, we uncover a path from the limited ego-mind to the infinite Self, a journey that is also the foundation of mastering the art of manifestation.
I am sure all of us have seen thousands of people raising their hands in shouting match where we proclaim to believe in ourself and we will accept the energy that the universe have given us. The concept of manifestation is a faith based belief, it reminded me of a phrase in the book “The Alchemist” by Paul Coellho : “ If you want something, the universe will help you.” The idea is that when you truly desire something, the universe conspires to help you achieve it. In one of the ritual, Master Sri Akarshana explained how energy level raises if everyone in the room vibrates at the same time, your manifestation will ride the waves of this energy surge along with the universe. We were asked to shout and speak louder so the universe can hear our voice.
Modern manifestation teachings often emphasize the Law of Attraction, the idea that thoughts create reality. However, yogic philosophy suggests that true manifestation does not stem from the ego’s desires but from alignment with the Higher Self. When our actions are in harmony with our Dharma (our soul’s purpose), the universe naturally provides the necessary resources and opportunities. Manifestation, then, is not just about willpower but about attuning to universal intelligence.
What to Manifest ?
I am sure many of us thought about this for a second: manifesting wealth and finding love are top of the list for most people. I don’t doubt for a second all of us want happiness in life; health, money, love have caused us suffering. As explained, The Ego plays a dual role in manifestation: It is both the tool and the obstacle. We were here to learn about how to “maneuver” and wake up to our true life, which is the bliss we are meant to feel when we have everything. Here are the 4 things Master Sri Akarshana thinks we should manifest:
Health: our body is our vessel. If we don’t have a healthy body, we cannot vibrate and attract good energy. This makes a lot of sense because if you don’t have a healthy body, you will not have the right mental clarity to make good decision in life. The energy blockage in the body can also bring out many health problems.
Wealth: There are those who believe money is all evil and those who are greedy. Wealth is define as an exchange of energy in manifestation technique, the more you believe that you are poor and unwilling to invest in yourself, the harder it is to attract money. If we don’t believe in the importance of money, we will not receive wealth, a very sensible way of thinking is with wealth, you can then help or save as many people as you want. It is the fundamental needs for doing good.
Relationship: How many times have we suffered from mental breakdown because of problems in the relationship in our life. Building meaningful and positive relationship is critical to our mental health and overall quality of life.
Purpose: The is the one I resonate with the most. Happiness isn’t just about career, money and love, finding life purpose is another way of saying getting to know who you are. Yoga practice essentially is self-study, without knowing your place in the universe, there is nothing to live for.
How to Manifest ?
Manifestation is a powerful tool that, when aligned with our true purpose, can bring immense joy and love into our lives. Here are some key principles to focus on:
Clarity and Alignment: To manifest effectively, it's crucial to have clarity about what you truly desire. Align your energy with your manifestation statement, ensuring that your goals resonate with your core values and purpose. This alignment across health, wealth, relationships, and purpose creates a harmonious flow of energy that supports your manifestations
Positive Energy and Collective Vibration: Engage in practices that raise your energy levels, such as group activities that channel positive energy. When a group vibrates at the same frequency, it amplifies the manifestation process, creating a pathway towards happiness and success
Embrace Love and Kindness: Focus on love and kindness in your interactions. This not only attracts similar energies but also shields you from negativity. By being all about love and kindness, you create a positive environment that nurtures joy and love
Take Action: Manifestation is not just about visualization; it requires action. Once you have clarity and alignment, take concrete steps towards your goals. This action-oriented approach ensures that your manifestations are grounded in reality and not just wishful thinking
Surrender and Trust: Trust in the process and surrender to the universe. By letting go of control and allowing the universe to guide you, you open yourself to receiving love and joy in unexpected ways. This surrender is an act of love itself, as it shows trust in the universe's plan for you
Conclusion: Finding Balance Through Yoga
True manifestation arises when inner and outer realities are in harmony. Through yoga, meditation, and self-study, we can discern whether our desires come from the ego or from a deeper truth. When we stop chasing external validation and instead allow our goals to be guided by the wisdom of the Higher Self, we find that manifestation becomes effortless, meaningful, and aligned with the flow of life. In this world where matter and spirit intertwine, yoga offers a path of integration. By understanding the relationship between the Higher Self and the Ego, we not only master the art of manifestation but also maintain our individuality while staying connected to universal consciousness. This awakening is not an end but a new beginning, allowing us to participate in the cosmic dance of creation with greater awareness and clarity.
